On December 15, 2023, refugee and human rights advocates submitted anamicus curiae(“friend of the court”)to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACtHR) to inform the Court's upcoming Advisory Opinionregarding States' human rights obligations in the context of the unfolding climate emergency.The brief was filed by the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies (CGRS);the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP);the Global Center for Environmental Legal Studies (GCELS) at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University;the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), (Mona);Refugees International;Americas Alliance;and Professor Shana Tabak, Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of International Migration.
